In 1979, nearly 8,000 UPW Unit 1 members went on strike for 41 days, halting trash collection and forcing schools to close throughout Hawaii. This is the story and legacy of those brave members.

Carol and Charles Noland embody the spirit of laulima. As members of UPW’s Retiree Sub-Chapter, they continually devote their time to helping their community, including the home of UPW.
